“We need an ambitious CAP reform based on legitimacy and equity, giving the tools to farmers for being competitiveand to help them face the challenge of an increasing demand withina sustainable model forEU farmers and citizens”, said MEP Luis Manuel Capoulas Santos on the occasion of an Intergroup event last year. The European Commission’s proposals for a reform of the Common Agricultural Policy after 2013 seek to make the CAP “economically and environmentally sustainable”.
The high level conference will try to provide answers to the following key questions:
- How to make “Greening the CAP” an opportunity for farmers and the agricultural sector?
- What tools are needed to turn this concept into reality while ensuring competitiveness and EU’s role in feeding the world?
